Life’s biggest moments

Baptisms, weddings & funerals

At the beginning of life, at the altar, and at the grave, the church tells the same good news: you belong to God, and nothing can separate you from his love.

Baptism

Washed and welcomed

Baptism is God’s gift, not our achievement: in the water, God claims us as his own. We baptize children and adults who are becoming part of the life of St. John’s. If you’re thinking about baptism for yourself or your child, start by worshiping with us on Sundays, then talk with Rev. Ben. We’ll prepare together.

Weddings

Married in a house of prayer

We love celebrating marriages in our historic church. Members of St. John’s, talk with Rev. Ben about your plans. Couples who aren’t members are welcome too.

Funerals

Hope at the grave

When someone you love dies, call us. We’re honored to care for the members of St. John’s and their families: to pray with you, to help plan a service that tells the truth about grief and about Christ’s victory over death, and to give thanks for a life. If the one you’ve lost wasn’t a member here, please call the office, and we’ll talk with you about what’s possible.

Weddings

Getting married at St. John’s

To hold your date

$1,000

A non-refundable deposit that counts toward the church fee.

The balance

30 days before

Never on the day, so the day is just for you.

Music

Your musicians, or ours

Bring your own, or ask about our musician, Sterling Cozza.

What does the fee cover?

The church fee covers the church and Rev. Ben as officiant. Music isn’t included: our musician may be available, and any musicians or singers are paid by you directly. Ask us for the current fee.

When is it due?

A $1,000 deposit holds your date. It’s non-refundable and counts toward the church fee. The rest is due 30 days before the wedding, never on the day. If plans change more than 30 days out, we keep the deposit; within 30 days, the full church fee.

Can we bring our own musicians?

Yes, gladly. Music at a wedding is part of the church’s worship, so it should suit a Christian service. Our musician, Sterling Cozza, mostly plays piano and may be available for your date. Whoever plays or sings, they’re paid by you directly.

Can another member of the clergy officiate?

Yes, with Rev. Ben’s blessing. The fee stays the same.

Ask about a date

Tell us a little, and Rev. Ben will be in touch. Nothing is held until the deposit is paid.
